I use these in a mix of Walthers/Shinohara code-83 "DCC friendly" turnouts and Atlas code-83 flex track. The fit on the Walthers/Shinohara turnouts is very snug, needing neele-nose pliers to get them to go without slicing my fingers. The fit on the Atlas flex track is "reasonable", not loose, not tight. I soldered feeder wires to the underside of the rail joiners before installation. No problem soldering to the plating, the solder bonds well. I haven't yet soldered the rail-joiners to the flex track but will soon and don't anticipate any problems. I will be soldering only one end of each joiner to the rails to allow for thermal expansion and contraction of the rails throughout the year as the weather heats and cools things.

No defective joiners in this batch I purchased. It's a joiner, it works or it's trash. Not much to review.
