Author Biography
JAY MEEK has published four earlier books with Carnegie Mellon, including Earthly Purposes (1984) and Stations (1989). His poems have appeared in The Beloit Poetry Journal, The Georgia Review, The Kenyon Review, The Ohio Review, Poetry, Poetry Northwest, Raccoon, Three Rivers Poetry Journal, The Virginia Quarterly Review, and The Yale Review. They have also appeared in a number of anthologies, including the New Directions and Pushcart Prize collections. With F.D. Reeve, he is co-editor of After the Storm: Poems on the Persian Gulf War. For his poems, Jay Meek has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, and the Bush Foundation. Currently, he teaches at the University of North Dakota.
