Die Marktteilnehmer sind zunehmend gezwungen effizienter zu handeln und sich den neuen Dynamiken des Marktes aktiv entgegenzustellen. Einer der wesentlichen Erfolgsfaktoren eines Unternehmens in heutiger Zeit ist die Bereitschaft und Fahigkeit zum Wandel. Der bestandige Wandel ist als Notwendigkeit zu erkennen und das Unternehmen hat mit Flexibilitat und Kreativitat zu reagieren aber auch zu agieren. Veranderungsprozesse stellen das Unternehmen jedoch auch vor zu bewaltigende Probleme. Das Change Management (Management des Wandels) hat eine tragende Rolle bezuglich der Handhabung und Vermeidung von Problemen bei Veranderungsprozessen. Fur ein erfolgreiches Change Management wiederum ist der Faktor Kommunikation von entscheidender Bedeutung. Mit Sicht der neuen Institutionenoekonomik wird den immateriellen Vermoegenswerten, im Gegensatz zur neoklassischen OEkonomie, mehr Relevanz zugestanden: Neben produktiven Prozessen basieren die Wertschoepfungsprozesse eines Unternehmens aus der Perspektive der institutionellen OEkonomie verstarkt auf Wissen, auf Beziehungen zu Geschaftspartnern und Kunden, auf Bekanntheitsgrad (des Unternehmens bzw. seiner Marken oder Produkte), auf Unternehmenskultur, auf Innovationskraft und neue Technologie sowie und vor allem auf Humankapital. Das mechanische und auf ausschliesslich Zahlen basierende Unternehmensmodell mit Starrheit und Hierarchie wird zunehmend von einer organischen Struktur - der lernenden Organisation - substitu
