Because there are so many broadaxe heads of varying sizes, the handle has to be shaped to fit the intended axe head. You should take the time to remove material til it fits, and cut a slot for the wedges. The handle provides plenty of material for that purpose. The grain of the wood is straight and aligned, and the hickory is admirably suited material for the handle. The order was well packaged and delivered a bit ahead of schedule. I'm very pleased with the results.

As an axe handle the grain was flat saw in relation to the axe head. I realize it was easier to bend flat sawn. The price was appropriate for what I received. I wish the grain was oriented parallel to the axe head. It would last longer. But it will get my broad axe up and running. Next time I’ll make my own.

Exactly what we needed. It is a beautiful piece of wood. The broad axe (& the handle) will be used in historical demonstrations at a local 1700's historical park.

This was a gift for my brother-in-law's birthday. He was very excited to receive the Axehandle. The quality of the axehandle is excellent. Good cross grain wood very very hard.

I bought a 13” broad axe without a handle and stumbled upon this offset handle. There was plenty of stock to fit the head. I thank you and my knuckles thank you.
