The E.S.C. gets warm without it. It may go into thermal shut down without it on a hot day of hard running. Very easy to install: It snaps on the the Castle controller! A 2 way splitter is recommended(Not supplied) to run the fan and have easy access to the Castle Link for programming. The Castle link is suggested to change the settings. The default settings are not enough! Fan is lightweight and effective.

Works really well, keeps my buggy from overheating. I was really shocked that a high end speed controller made to run on 90c lipos didn't come with a fan. I wish the fan would have come with better instructions, didn't say if it needs to suck or blow on the esc, I went with blow thinking fresh air would be better than trying to pull hot air off of it.
