Assembly was quick and intuitive. Quality is very high with quick, ergonomic adjustments and settings that look like they will meet any need. Had this one day and I've polished some aluminum parts, cut and trimmed some plastic slot bodies, and drilled some craft holes for my wife - then SHE drilled some holes. The base is aluminum, but plunge/tilt mechanism is directly over the base making for a light, but stable tool. Not only do I expect to get years of use from this tool, I expect my normally tool-shy wife to occasionally use it on her own without my assistance.

This is a wonderful piece of equipment for jewelry making. I use alot of the Dremel products in my work, and when looking for a drill press and a buffing machine I found this to do both. They work great and sturdy for me. I got a terrific buy from CPO!!! Shipped fast and free, can't do better!! Thank you!!!!

I was taking a lapidary class at the time, and our instructor was using this same setup. He was adamant about buying US made tools; railing against foreign made, poorly milled, weaker quality components. We were given time to practice on drilling stone and silver with the Dremel; so it has become the baseline we would compare other drill stations too. Still, this tool should not be used for super detailed, precision work - the carriage holding the separate Dremel hand piece will waver with tiny drill bits. Never-the-less, it is a well constructed, easy to use tool for your crafting, jewelry and silversmith needs.
This attachment from Dremel was rather heavier then I expected when it arrived. When I opened the box the first thing I noticed was all the metal parts. The base is cast metal, while the adjustment pole is made from shiny metal and was an expandable two piece pole. Dremel had added a few extra items that were nor really needed for this item, however rather appreciated once everything was assembled. The only real plastic items on the drill press is the assembly that holds the rotary tool itself, which is find as its a special polymer and is very tough. Another thing about the main body is that the guts to it are all metal parts. The slide bar is metal as well as the handle to raise and lower the rotary tool. I have the router from Dremel and its also a very nice accessory. I think any hobbyist would like this drill press from Dremel. Everything on this accessory is functional and the crows nest is a nice finishing touch. I'm sure I will get years of use out of this drill press from Dremel. Thanks, Perry armsmasterRead full review

The advertisement made the product appear "too good to be true" but it is true. The little drill press works like a charm and has seen hours of trouble-free use in the week that I've had it.
