I have used this balancer to balance a large number of props, since receiving it. It's a great design, sturdy built and works great. It is especially useful in balancing larger, quadcopter/drone props like Phantom and Chroma. The balancer comes with a universal balance rod, that fits a wide range of prop sizes. However, when balancing fixed-nut props, like Phantom, you will need a special threaded rod, specific to the prop. Since these props will not allow the balance rod to pass completely "through" the center of the prop, a special rod is needed. Also, I wanted to balance even my small, lightweight props, like on a Syma X5C or other toy-grade quadcopters. These cheap props are typically very unbalanced, but have a very small shaft hole. This is a problem with ANY balancer, since no balance rods exist for these small props. I have made my own, using a variety of material, including bicycle spokes. Once you make something fit, the balancer works amazingly well for these small props as well. And it makes a BIG difference in performance, even on the toy drones. So, this is a great balancer, that will work on most ant prop. BUT, there are not enough balance rods available, for the large number of aircraft out there. This is a problem that shouldn't exist. Yes, you can make your own, but not everyone has that ability and wouldn't it be nice to have them available for this great balancer.Read full review

This is a great balancer after I worked on it. Two of the threaded rods would not accept the nuts and lock nuts. Luckily as a retired machinist, I knew what to do. After wire brushing the threads on my bench grinder, they fit ! The rest of the balancer seems to be high quality. Don’t know what happened to quality control with this one ? The average person would probably have to send it back. Hope this was helpful ! After Dubro read this ,they contacted me with an apology and sent two new post, free of charge ! Thanks to Dubro !!!

This is the prop balancer that I recommend to others asking for suggestions. It's a bit more than some of the other models available, however it is fully adjustable to accommodate the larger props, threaded nut props (IE DJI, 3DR, etc). I've used this piece of equipment to balance phantom props, 5 and 6" props, as well as 13" t-style. A twist of 4 easy grip nuts allows you to change orientation for the threaded nut stype props, raise for the longer props, or even take down for easy storage out of the way. It compacts down small enough to fit in your field box if you want to take it along. Phantom operators will need to purchase a short threaded aluminium rod in addition as the included rod is intended for pass through use on standard prop designs.

This was really easy to use to get both spinners and propellers in balance with a high presicion. I balanced my spinner for my FMS P-51D with the propeller blades mounted on it after I weighed the blades individually on a gunpowderweight, and now there are no more vibrations in my plane whatsoever. It's easy to assemble right out of the box, comes with a very understandable instruction sheet, it's easy to use, and seems stable and accurate. Very happy with my choise of this tool from Du-Bro.

Had an issue with a slight vibration in my Drone, was able to determine one prop was out of balance with this product. Easy to use, I balanced the prop, an now no more vibration. I now test every prop, even if the manufactures says if balanced, I don't take their word for it. This makes it very easy and quick to test.
