Fear the Walking Dead suffered from a short first season. Some found it more difficult to get into than the show it spun off from, The Walking Dead due to being set 'during the fall' rather than being post-apocalyptic like the latter. However, the second season of FTWD is a vast improvement with a proper season length, higher stakes for the characters and more tension between them. The overall plot has also moved more towards general survival rather than seeing society fall apart. As in the parent show, the threat of zombies is frequently pushed aside by the threat posed by other humans. As a long time reader of TWD in comic form as well as viewer of the television adaptation, I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing new characters in this world on screen and have actually come to enjoy FTWD more than TWD.Read full review
