This is a very good product. I spent a lot of time watching online videos of the installation so I was ready for my installation. I even prewired some of the ancillary devices that I needed because of my car being a manual transmission. I needed a speed sensor and magnets for the driveshaft and a clutch disengage switch which is extra to this unit, also the dash control is extra. All in all I am extremely happy and satisfied with the unit.

installed this on a 74 super beetle,, so had my work cut out for me. love the product, works great, installing was pretty tough, took me a while. instructions weren't exactly for my rig, but i got it going,,, (with lots of do overs)... not exactly for those who can't figure out stuff or give up easily. wish instructions were a little easier, some just down right contradicted themselves, but if you stay with it you'll eventually get it done. i'm 74 so that made it a little tougher.

Difficult to install largely due to limited detailed installation instructions and the many hours of researching such things as dip switch settings and what the optional setting of them do to fine tune its performance. Still experimenting with the unit and working the bugs out, but is operating at acceptable levels now. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone not experienced/inclined to automotive repair.

I bought the rostra 250-1223 for my motorcycle. A 2002 vtx1800c. There have been a few write ups on how to use and install them in vtx forums. I got the basic idea and studied my wiring diagram for my bike and with some modifications installed it. Had to also buy a signal splitter and the dash controller. Some of the settings were different for me. Probably due to the amount of cable slack. But after everything was adjusted, it worked great. I am happy with the results. No more throttle lock needed.

I put this cruise control on my 1927 Dodge truck and boy was I pleased. That Dodge truck that my grandfather used for hauling watermelons started right up after sitting in a cow pasture since 1942. And, I did not have to replace the battery!!!!! -- However, I did have to put a gallon of gas in the tank. I tried starting it without gas, but no luck. Now I can cruise down Interstate 20 south of Dallas, Texas at 85 MPH with all the other cars and trucks. My next project is to replace the missing floor board in the truck. Once I first got up to about 60 MPH the entire rusted floor of the truck fell out onto I-20 and the entire seat too. - Wow! What a ride! Going 85 MPH while hanging onto the steering wheel and the rearview mirror, and my feet dragging on the pavement. I highly recommend Rostra cruise controls.Read full review
