I bought this product in order to replace it with my hard disk on my laptop. This type of memory is very fast, and thus extends the life of my computer and allows me to work with large complex applications and more. This technology is still too expensive so I purchased a limited memory size, I suppose that over time the price dropped to allow me to work with larger memories. Overall an excellent product.
I bought this because I am trying to transition to all solid state drives. It was reasonably priced and the performance figures looked pretty good. Before I put it in my laptop, I found another drive with better specifications and bought it. I have hooked this drive up with a SATA to USB converter and it seemed to perform OK. I will probably install it in a desktop at some point. I do have another SanDisk solid state drive in my main desktop and have had no problems with it as of yet. I will say that in general, though the newer solid state drives have better specs than most regular drives, I have yet to actually see a difference in performance in a working computer. There are many variables which may be masking the better performance however. I guess what I am really saying is you shouldn't expect a huge performance increase with a solid state drive.Read full review
This drive performs very will in a Drobo Mini enclosure. So impressed with it that I bought four of them. Great performance and price. Great backup for my 15" MacBookPro. Not quite as fast as my internal SSD, but it runs circles around my USB 3.0 hard disk. WIth the drobo mini, I was able to get 212MB/s write and 424MB/s read with three SSDs. I am waiting for my forth... and should get same rates if not a little better.
I've run two high end intel SSD's on my desktop and a Samsung 840 series on a laptop. This is the first time i foray in the SanDisk SSD's and i must say I am delightfully impressed. While not as blazingly fast as the intel counterpart, I find this Ultra Plus SSD to be on par if not a tick faster than its Samsung counterpart. Overall it is rock-solid as can be expected from a company like SanDisk. It's cheaper than the other brands because it isn't such a big name in the large disk space world. If you can find it cheaper than $150 for the 256gb, take the plunge.
