My daughter likes it. The packaging and product descriptions were never clear on what a "Flight Controller" actually does. Now that she has opened it for Christmas, I can tell you: it does not launch the ships across the room; the controller holds the ships in formation, and makes sounds. If you set the toggle switch to one side, it shines a red light under the center ship, and makes TIE fighter sounds; if you flip the toggle switch to the other side, it shines a blue light under the ship and makes, well I'm not sure if it's the Millenium Falcon sound, or what. But it's a great collection of ships, all the ones you need to stage an assault on the Death Star as in Episode IV, plus a few more ships.

For the most part I don't normally contribute to the rating forum, my apologies to all for that. I purposefully got this item for my Grandson for his 4th Birthday. Out of all the many many gifts he got from the family I believe he liked this one the most. You might say...how do you know that? Well he put all the ships in a small tote bag and sleeps with them. Also he said to my wife....I am sure glad I got a NaNa and a Grandpa. He constantly plays with these, again, out of the many many new toys he just got for his birthday. My wife and I believe that this toy brought him more joy and entertainment than can be properly described here. (In my day it was the Lost In Space B9 Robot and Jupiter II Spaceship, laugh if you like, but......I have seen both on ebay around $600) If your son or daughter likes the whole Star Wars Saga, I am endorsing this toy 100% and you won't be sorry you bought it!Read full review
