Author Biography
Firas Arnold Al Ebadi was born in Iraq, and came into life in a warzone. He first learned to use a rifle in 1984 at the age of 6, and experienced fighting in his first real battle at age 13. From 1990 through 2003, he lived under siege by the United Nations during their search for WMDs. In 2001, he became an officer in the Iraqi Republican Guards and was four months away from being promoted to the rank of captain when he was captured by the Americans in 2003. He later guided American troops in Iraq as a translator, and came to the United States on a Special Immigration Visa in 2008. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in May 2009 and after BCT and deployed back to Iraq. On his third application, he became an American citizen on May 9, 2014.
