Author Biography
Dani Haviland, born in New Haven, Connecticut, spent over 30 years in the Arizona desert before she found her real home in Alaska. Rather than spend her winters on unemployment as others in the construction industry did, she began her own business, brokering tractor parts and environmental supplies, using nothing but ambition, chutzpah, and a bank loan to get started. In 2000, tools and roses were added to the inventory of her quaint store in Chugiak. Evenings find her cuddled up in her recliner with two dogs, a cat, and her laptop, creating characters and events to share with friends and family all over the world. Her tenacious and perky attitude is reflected in many of her cyber children, whether they be a British Lord stuck in 18th century North Carolina or a 6'7 time traveling 'fairy' who is out to champion anyone or everyone who is having a rough time dealing with difficult life situations. Dani traveled to Sydney in early 2014 to research the journey of The First Fleet, and the hardships and challenges faced by those early settlers, most of them convicts, when they landed in Australia, January, 1788. FAIRIES DOWN UNDER is still in development, and a release date has not yet been set. The first book in THE FAIRIES SAGA series, NAKED IN THE WINTER WIND, was released in 2013 in three parts: AMNESIA (I), ABANDONED (II), and ADOPTIONS (3). This story reveals how 21st century Evie fell back in time, rejuvenated, met fictional characters who were real, and dealt with kidnappers, a cougar, and near starvation. AYE, I AM A FAIRY, the follow up tale of how Evie's daughter tries to 'catch up' to Mom who is 230 years in the past, will also be released in three parts, and will be available throughout 2014. DANCES NAKED, the tale of a time traveler who lives with the Cherokee Indians, was released in May 2011. THE GREAT BIG FAIRY, released in August 2011, is also available in large print format in three parts: BACK AGAIN (I), THE BARTERED WOMAN (II), and FUTURE TENSED (III).
