The complete package including pots coming in at around $200, this little guy is in my opinion the best entry hiking stove on the market. The intelligent design provides a in-built wind break, integrated pots, frying pan and a complete lack of moving parts and o-rings (except for the one under the stove travel lid) means that they require virtually no maintenance. The Trangia is great for cooking all types of meals, it comes with a simmer ring which allows for a much slower cooking speed than the gas or multi fuel stove systems , and offers even more control as you can control the width of the opening on the simmer ring itself. The hard anodised finish is as tough as nails so far and doesn't look like it's going to peel away like the non stick version and it makes for a very easy cleanup. All said and done it's going to be a cheaper option to fuel over time as you can pick up a litre of methylated spirits for about $2 AUD which will last for well over 2 weeks of cooking dinners and making coffees and oatmeal for breakfast. I would also suggest that it is going to be a whole lot safer than gas particularly when bashing it around inside the panniers of my adventure bike.Read full review
