NEW Fisher Space Pen Fine Blue Ballpoint Refill
02 July 2020
Great for writing upside down on plastic during rain. Other situations - not good
I tried many different genuine Fisher refills, and all eventually started leaking from the tip. At first they work fine, but they soon start to leak a bit and need wiping ink blob which forms on the tip. I tried different colors and different sellers thinking that maybe some refills were old or faulty batch - but no improvement. It appears that hot summer makes them starting to leak sooner. Fisher offers some sort of replacement warranty, but I never bothered. Writing is also not particularly smooth, the result is like from a cheap 20c leaking pen. A good quality rollerball pen will give you vastly better writing experience and results. E.g. try any generic pen you like and change provided refill with a Mont Blanc refill of any color for superior results. I rated 2 stars as Fisher has one unique advantage: it can be used to write on different difficult surfaces where any other pen would fail most plastics, painted wall, wood, etc.), also during rain, upside down, etc -- if this is your application, sure, go for it, you won't find anything better -- this is why I rated it as "recommended". For anything else - no. In summary: depending on your specific needs Fisher pens are rubbish rated at 0 stars, or absolutely indispensable tool rated at 5 stars.

2 colors GREEN + BROWN pilot hi-tec- c Maica 0.3 needle tip roller ball pen

Not what I expected, but OK for some tasks
A good, quality writing/drawing pen, but for very specific applications. The tip is a very small 0.3 mm ("needle tip") which makes ink delivery restricted and inconsistent. Writing or drawing is not smooth, it feels scratchy. You will be very disappointed if you see it as a replacement for a more conventional fine rollerball pen - it is not. I rated it as a good quality, value and yes, I would recommend it, because it is a good pen for certain tasks, e.g. slower drawing of very small details or small letters writing on a suitable paper (pretty bad on standard printer / copier papers). It also works better if you hold it more vertically. If you want thin, consistent lines and more universal writing instrument (but restricted colours selection) try Rotring Tikky or even better Sakura Pigma Micron.
JBL PEBBLES PLUG & PLAY USB COMPUTER SPEAKERS (BLACK)
29 March 2016
Great sound, solid build
The best sound you can get from a small desktop speaker within this price range. One full range driver (designed by Harman) which fires forward with bass reflex vent at the back which improves bass. Just plug it into a USB port (tested under Win 10), and they simply work (no external power supply needed). Build is very solid with good use of high quality plastic and metal mesh. The speakers feel heavy for their size and do not slide on a desk. Right speaker large volume control disk which also has a middle press on/off switch is very convenient to use. Volume control is synchronized with Win 10 volume, does not matter which one you use. The volume disk is not over sensitive, it requires a few full turns to go from no sound to full output, which I like. The speakers can also be used without a computer: power can be supplied from any USB charger, and with any sound source plugged into 3.5mm audio socket. There is no headphones jack, but I do not require one. Build in amplifier is well designed: there is no noise with no input, and no distortion even at full volume, and the speakers can fill it a small room with good quality sound. In my eyes the speakers look modern, and are just the right size to sit next to my notebook with nicely contrasting orange cables. They can also be placed horizontally, but I prefer to have them vertical. Well done, JBL, great design, perfect size/sound quality/price balance, for my needs perfect.
