Art & Craft Watercolour Paint Tin Set of 18 Colours & 1 Brush
28 March 2018
A good basic paint box
I went on holiday without taking by box of watercolours and so purchased this set to tide me over. Slightly dubious about the low cost when I purchased it but have found it absolutely perfect. Not only is the quality of the paints excellent but the brush is of very good quality and ideal for fine work. It;'s so good that, back home again, I've carried on using this set in preference to my original one. Definitely a very good buy!

Gaugemaster DCC23 Compact 6 Pin Classic 2 Function Loco Decoder 1A (For Farish)
23 November 2017
A good decoder for Dapol N Gauge locos.
I always install DCC23 decoders in Dapol Locos. They work well and give good low speed control. I was, by the way, far less successful when using them in Farish locos and now stick to Bachmann 36-568s in Farish and DCC23s in Dapol..
Graham Farish N Gauge 1513 BR 4-6-2 Merchant Navy 35028 Clan Line

Still a Good Model
I already have 2 Bachmann Farish original Merchant Navy locos. but what I really remember from 1950s trainspotting are the Modified Merchant Navies. This Poole-era Farish model still provides a good representation, being dimensionally accurate overall, even though the driving wheels are slightly small and the "skirt" between the boiler and running plate is rather obtrusive when the loco. is stationary. Perhaps, in the future, Bachmann/Farish will upgrade this model to 21st Century standards but I can't wait that long to recreate my memories! This good-looking model still looks impressive at the head of a long train and I will make my own improvements by replacing the "pizza cutter" front bogie, blackening the very bright motion and adding DCC.
