Extremely power-efficient, has all the bells and whistles if all you need is 5.1 surround
I replaced my Yamaha RX-V2600 with this receiver. The Yammy used 500-1100W of power when it was on, the class D amplifier in the VSX-S520 uses a maximum of 60W. Massive win.
I didn't use most of the features of the Yamaha, but the Pioneer has all the latest decoders, ARC, 4K and 3D support etc etc.
For me it's been great.

Works as advertised. Decent image quality.
I used this to hook up my old Sinclair ZX Spectrum to my Dell monitor. Works great.
