Inaccurate temperature guage but the rainfall part is great.
The instructions state that the temperature guage reads about 3° too high when it's placed in the sun, but in reality compared to a mercury guage it reads around 10° - 12° too high, yesterday giving me temperatures over 50° Celcius. You have to put the guage in the sun otherwise the rainfall part won't work. When the sun moves overhead and is no longer shining directly on the guage the temperature readings are more accurate.
That's the negative. The positive is I LOVE the rainfall bit, being able to check the rainfall without going outside to physically check the guage is a real plus and you can check how much rain is falling while the storm is still going on which is great.
So I've decided to use two guages, one in the sun for the rainfall, and one out of direct sun for temperatures, which gives me what I want without paying over $150 for one of the fancy weather stations.
