King of Zydeco music
Great CD. I've been listening to Clifton since the 70's and saw him once in concert (I don't think he made it to NYC too often).
In the liner notes , longtime producer Chris Strachwich (sp?) said this was probably his best session with Clifton.Nearly all the songs are rockin' and will get you up & dancing, they even got me up & I'm 68 & don't dance ! A few are lesser , but nothing is bad. This CD is proof of why Clifton was called the "King of Zydeco"

Rate this about 3.5 out of 5. Great song selections. Trouble is most were recorded at radio stations in the early to mid sixties. Quality is far from great. Mixing is not so good. Far cry from the studio versions but a good way to get all these songs in one shot. Wish they had a maybe selection on would you recommend this
