Bought it for a movie forum, it is ideal for that, we had a great time!
This is one of my favorite movies of all times. I saw it for the 1st time in 1986 and simply loved it. Since then I have watched it occasionally always with the same delight. In my university we have a movie forum program called "The Future of the Past" where we see old movies that were futuristic by their time. I bought this one to watch it in this forum so young students could see computers from early 80's, what a global thermonuclear war threat was, and how teenagers environment of that age was. This is a ideal movie for that purpose. We enjoyed watching it and discussing things like old myths about computers that still subsist, what is really artificial intelligence, the role of programmers and several other things. One thing wonderful about this 25th anniversary edition is all the extra features it has, documentaries, and stories about the production of the movie. This is one movie that is impossible to remake, because it belongs to its unique era: that confluence of technology development (the rise of the personal computer) and political issues (the cold war). It is great that their creators didn't miss the opportunity.
