Best 11B72l Keyed Padlock, Coreless, Standard Shackle, Rectangular Brass Body,

No one's gonnapick this lock.
But it's just a leetle bit pricey for a padlock with a quarter inch shackle.
(4 pack) Stanley S828-152 CD8820 Shrouded Hardened Steel Padlock (4 LOCKS/ 8 KEY

Best padlock for the money
These padlocks are a great deal for what they cost. They use a 7 pin keyway, making them pickproof except to the most skilled, determined lock pick artiste like the lock picking lawyer. Even then it would take a skillful person with many years experience at least several minutes to pick this lock. Most thieves won't bother, as the payoff isn't worth the risk. They'll just move on to an easier, lower risk score. For the money these are better than the Chinese competition — the only lockmakers that can possibly compete on price. So keep your dollars in-country. Buy these instead. When you get it, you'll see what a great deal they are.
QUEEN 2-3/4" PADLOCK with 6 keys

A Real Queen? Maybe!
This is a heavy, solid padlock. It was purchased used, but it's in good condition. It might even be an original, rather than a commie copy like the new Queens. But 6 keys is overkill. It's too easy to lose a key and have it end up in the wrong hands. And with six keys it's harder to tell at a glance if one is missing. A padlock should ideally have only 2 keys — one to use, and one as a backup in case of loss. Any more can cause problems (that might not apply if more than one person controls/uses the same lock). When buying a padlock, always consider the value of what's being protected. If it's a cheap push mower, a Master (ugh!) padlock might be adequate — but not if you're protecting your new Ferrari. In that case, you'll need an Abloy, a Bilock, an Abus, or something equivalent. They're not cheap. Finally, even a $200 – $300+ padlock isn't much good if it's used along with a hardware store chain, or a flimsy hasp. So make sure there are no weak links in your security setup — or you could still be making those Ferrari payments while you're driving around town in that cute little used Ford Escort... gnome sane?
