The Applause of Heaven by Max Lucado
Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors because he has a gift of bringing things onto perspective, and making them truly understandable. He is a gifted storyteller, and I picture him as much like Jesus of Nazareth, able to take common everyday stories and weave a deeper truth into them that can truly get to your heart! Modern day parables if you will. In The Applause of Heaven, Max portrays God much like our earthly Fathers, or like one should be, who is watching His Son/Daughter playing in an exciting game of life, and who wants so badly to see them succeed or make a home run or touchdown!! Can you picture God, sitting on the sidelines, actually cheering for you, desiring your success and your fulfillment? I have many times pictured God only as a stern old Judge, waiting for me to screw up one more time so He could really belt me one, but the Biblical portrayal is much different than that, and I believe Max has found the real person and character of the God of the Bible!! This book is a page turner, and one that will make you laugh, and bring tears of joy to your eyes!! It would make a great gift for a Son or Daughter just leaving for college, or starting in their career.

Apple iphone, 1st generation
This is my first iphone, but I have owned an ipod touch for some time, and I love it. The iphone combines all of the great features of the ipod touch, and incorporates them into a neat phone with a camera too. Both work together into a great combination. I am old school, so I have a lot to learn about all the operations, but I am enjoying the features. I especially like the iphone while riding my motorcycle. It works well with the bluetooth Scalia rider headset, and I can listen to tunes, and then answer my phone, or make voice activated calls while riding. The downside is the size, weight and the vulnerability to damage. The large screen is easily broken, so I have a case, with clear plastic over the screen, to protect it from scratches and impacts. It does not carry well in my pocket, because I am a very active guy, and it is easy to bend it too far, or drop it out of my shirt pocket. I use my old Samsung clamshell phone when working in my shop, and then put my SD card in the iphone when I am traveling or riding my motorcycle.

Great, user friendly phone that rivals the super smart i-phones and Android
I am very impressed with The Samsung SGH - A897 phone! I bought it because it was selling for a ridiculously low price, and I am pleasantly surprised. It is smaller and lighter than an i-phone, and I find it much easier to use, though it is much more limited than the i-phone. However, for it's price and its size, it is a real value The camera is phenomenal!!! The pictures rival my Kodak Digital camera, and it is fairly easy to navigate through. I did not receive a manual, and I am 60 years old, but even I can navigate through the user friendly menu, and that says a lot!!
