A mandatory upgrade. Turns a mediocre gun into a good one.
5 of 9 found this helpful It is not a secret that the stock trigger pull of SD9VE/SD40VE is horrible, making it nearly useless.
After installing this kit you will not believe it is the same gun. While the trigger pull is still long, it makes it usable and most important you can keep on target without applying inhumane efforts and champion skills to keep the muzzle from moving.
Start with getting an extended slide release (it makes working on the SDxVE series easier), then get this kit and install it. I would also recommend getting a lighter sears spring and doing the installation together. However, the springs in this kit are the most important thing, and way superior to any other kits available on the market.
In details for each of the components:
- The trigger return spring is strong enough to reset the trigger with confidence but much lighter.
- The striker safety spring is strong enough to have secure safety, but lighter again.
-- You can see the benefits of these two after dry firing, without arming the striker, pulling the trigger. The reduced resistance is due to these two lighter springs.
- The striker spring is the crown jewel here. It is the piece significantly ahead of any other kit other there. That is the most significant spring to overcome during trigger pull.
The installation of the striker spring and striker safety spring it super easy.
The installation of the trigger return spring is a bit harder, but not due to the spring itself. It takes some wiggling to get the slide stop in place such that you can push the pin through it. Watch a few videos to see what it will take.
Then if got to the trigger installation, perhaps you should consider adding an aftermarket one instead of the factory hinged, but that is an option. Again this is the most important upgrade.
Then the amazing thing is that this kit is actually cheaper than the competition. For the stellar results, I would gladly pay double the price.
Lastly, make sure you keep all your original parts, just in case you need to send the pistol to S&W for servicing.

The first upgrade you absolutely have to do on your S&W SD9VE/SD40VE
This model is for Glock I bought it and installed it on my S&W SD9VE because it is cheaper.
The finish is matte, and while normally I would prefer the shiny chrome-alike, it matches perfectly the slide.
The installation is easy, and the fit is perfect. The results are simply unbelievable.
With it installed taking the slide down is super easy. The ends do not stick out of the frame to extend to get in the way of something, but one can grab and pull without any effort.
If you simply have a compatible gun, you should buy this. It is a great upgrade as you will need to clean it sooner or later.
If you plan to do any work on the gun, this is an absolute must. I broke my index finger fingernail while fitting the Apex trigger, as you need to disassemble half a dozen times or more to slowly shave a bit of the back of the plastic.
Even things are swapping different action springs are now a quick operation, because removing the slide is pain-free.
All and all, stop wondering and reading more reviews, just buy this you will be happy with it.

Great magazines for a great gun
I got four of these mags for my Bersa Thunder Pro. All of them run flawlessly, easy to load, shoot w/o a hiccup and are easy to drop. There is much more to say, just if you have this gun you have to get this mags.
