Jack White - Boarding House Reach [Vinyl New]
02 April 2018
What the heck, Jack ?
First of all, let me start by saying the low rating of this record is not a reflection on the seller. This album was a complete disappointment. The lp's opening track is the only saving grace in an otherwise keyboard and synth induced experiment that ends up sounding like a well recorded 1980's Casio keyboard demo button. For those of us who are used to Jack White's loud rock/blues sound this album comes across like a polarizing funk/rap induced nightmare. Jack's lyrics are great, as usual, with the exception of "Why Walk a Dog?" which ends up sounding like a bad lyrical take of CCR's "Looking Out My Back Door". The lp itself is a beautiful package, great vinyl sound, nice lyric sheet, and a thick blue lined jacket that is sure to never warp, but the meat and potatoes is not there. I give the record three stars for the chance that someone who has never heard Jack White may actually be turned on to his music through this experimental mess. I, myself, find the album to be too far out there for this fan of the dying genre called rock n roll. It reminds me of a time back in the 1980's when I was screaming for the group Rush to unplug the keyboards and get back to the guitar. In conclusion, listen at your own risk, you may like it. Just because I didn't does not mean it's worthless, it just means it does not rock, like it should.

Roger Waters - Is This The Life We Really Want? [New Vinyl LP] Explicit, 180 Gra
12 July 2017
By the way, THIS one is Pink.
Waters best album ! The music sounds as if the Pink Floyd of the late 1970's was still alive and kicking. The lyrics are at times very beautiful and other times dark and angry, which should be no shock to any fan of Roger's poetry. It is well worth the 25 year wait.

Dan Swano - Moontower [Vinyl New]
13 January 2018
A Progressive Masterpiece !
I've thought long and hard about these words describing "Moontower" and this is it : BUY IT WHILE YOU CAN !!!! I first heard this album in 1999 and had a hell of a time finding the cd being as I live in the midwest of the USA......not a vast market for prog-melodic-death-metal. Almost 20 years later, here it is ! This vinyl blows the digital version out of the water and the price is right. The lp includes the lyrics, as the cd did, and alternate cover art that includes the title and a trippy twist to the original photo of Dan's eye. Long story short : if you can imagine Genesis and Rush forming a metal band, this is the record for you, and you will never beat this price. I had to pay 58 bucks for it in the years before the internet ! Thanks !
