Good lens but needs to be serviced.
I'm happy with my purchase for the price but the aperture blades are oily and sticky. Also the lens needs to be cleaned on the inside. I got it for a reasonable price so I'm not complaining. Especially since I can do that myself.
But makes sure to ask about that when buying vintage lenses. I've had many many of them so it comes to no surprise to me but if you just want something to work make sure ya ask.

Best DSLR from Canon, bar none!
1 of 1 found this helpful Absolutely phenomenal camera for sports, fast action, events, wildlife. Anything you need speed or just want an amazing pro body, this camera delivers. The IQ is phenomenal and the colors, dynamic range, sharpness, clean high ISO is amazing. Main thing it lacks is resolution, so that is a consideration if you print large or if your customer has high IQ requirements.
If you don't need the ultimate in high speed, get the R5. It costs a lot less and is better suited for just about everything that doesn't need the latest and greatest AF and speed with more than double the resolution.
Other reason you might want the 1Dx III is simply you are not ready to jump ship to mirrorless, in which case this is the best camera Canon makes, if you don't need high resolution. Because you have to be very specific person to want this camera as there are multiple better options that cost a lot less for slower subjects. Resolution is not everything, but when you pay $6500 plus tax on a body. You got to ask yourself will this camera really help me in my photography over say a 5D IV or R6 or R5? Chances are no. Get those.
But for those that are serious about sports, wildlife or photojournalism ect. This is the current king by Canon, and if it fits the bill. You will LOVE IT!

Excellent camera, still relevant even today.
2 of 2 found this helpful Not much to say, AF is fast and very programmable. Frame rate is fast, its built like a frickin tank, weighs more than your car. But it's a fantastic camera and love it. Produces excellent pictures and you can really notice the difference in DOF and Bokeh compared to a 1.6 crop camera.
One thing I notice is it doesn't quite have the same highlight holding capability as more modern cameras. It's not bad by any means but you can't pull the exposure quite as much in post as a more modern camera.
Noise is very good, not 1Dx level but still very nice.
Bottom line for anything that requires speed this is an excellent value for the money and if you score a decent deal you can still share the bateries and charger with a 1Dx in the future and keep the body as a backup.
