256 GB Class 10 Mobile Phone Memory Cards

Class 10 256 GB Mobile Phone Memory Cards

A Class 10 256 GB memory card gives you the freedom to store large amounts of media files on your phone or tablet without having to worry about running out of space quickly. In addition, these cards are quite fast, making them perfect for recording video. However, keep in mind, not all devices accept cards this large.

Compatibility

The SD and microSD card standard means that newer cards have the same form factor as older cards and can physically fit in older devices. However, newer cards, such as SDXC cards, use a file format that older devices cannot work with. Since all memory cards over 32 GB are SDXC types, they only work with SDXC devices. But things are not quite that simple. Even some devices that do accept SDXC cards may not be able to access cards above a certain size. If you have an SDHC device, then class 10 32 GB cards are the biggest your device will accept.

Full HD Recording

SD memory cards come in four speed classes: 2, 4, 6 and 10. Class 2 cards are only fast enough to record standard definition video. Classes 4 and 6 can handle high-definition video. The fastest of the four, class 10 cards are capable of recording full HD video. There are also cards rated faster, and they are ultra high speed (UHS) 1 and 3 class cards. However, you can only use them with UHS devices.

Expanded Storage

With 256 GB of expanded storage, your device will have plenty of room to flex. It can store over 55,000 photos, over 23,000 MP3 files or over 10 hours of 4K video. All this space does cost quite a bit. If your budget does not allow you to stretch to 256 GB, consider class 10 128 GB memory cards, the next largest size. If you plan on using the card to store and run apps from, look for one that has the 'A1' symbol. This denotes a card capable of quickly reading and writing small files, an essential feature for running apps.
