These can range from the noises it produces, to the motors weight, its efficiency and electricity supply requirements. These latter factors can affect the portability of an electric motor, as a specific electricity supply can be more challenging in remote places.

General Purpose Electric Motors

Although their role may be the same in converting electricity into mechanical energy, the requirements of different electric motors can vary wildly. While there are general purpose industrial electric motors that are capable of serving different devices that all require a standard output, there are also plenty of electric motors that are specifically built for a single application or industry.
