Moving on From Boring Workouts
While some people love working out, others would much prefer to be doing something different with their time. But whether they love working out or they hate it, it can generally be agreed that there is not much point working out unless the body is benefitting from it. Some people work out to lose weight, some to get toned, some to feel good - so it only makes sense that those workouts provide the maximum reward. Which is where the Bosu ball comes in.
Benefits of the Bosu Ball
What is a Bosu ball exactly? Working in much the same way as standard exercise balls, a Bosu ball is simply half an exercise ball mounted on a rigid plastic base. It can be used with the rigid side down, or it can be used as a kind of wobble board, with the exercise ball on the bottom. How does it work? Balance training can be incredibly beneficial, forcing the body to work muscles it wouldn't normally use when lifting weights or training. By combining strength training and balance training, those muscles can be worked, coordinated and strengthened, by increasing the intensity of the workout.
A Bosu ball can also help with flexibility training. Placed rigid side down, it can be used to stretch out the back and abdominal muscles, or placed rigid side up it can be used to stretch calves more fully. On top of all that, the Bosu ball can add variety to a workout. There's nothing more boring than a workout done the same way, a hundred times over. With a Bosu ball, workouts can be mixed up a little, adding some variety to make them more exciting. Interested?
