The number of different forms of media available can literally make a person's head swim. On a daily basis, people use media formats like MP3s, MP4s, PDFs, DVDs, CDs, Blu-ray discs — the list is seemingly endless. Although all of this media is available virtually through the Internet via websites, streaming services and elsewhere, there are times when you find things that you want to keep, whether it's personal items like photos, documents and videos or commercial media that you want to be able to play whenever you want. This is by no means a complete list but it is some of the most commonly used and known. Discs with an "R" are recordable but only once. Discs with an RW are rewritable and can be used to copy media several times. BD-R and BD-R are Blu-ray discs.
