In Yu-Gi-Oh, the Dark Magician is the ultimate card with 2500 attack and 2100 defence points. It’s the signature card of Yugi Mutou, who is the main fictional character of the game and was created by Kazuki Takahashi.

There are two dark magicians!

The dark magician used by Yugi Mutou in the anime and manga series typically has a purple robe. But, there is another dark magician that is used by Arkana and this one has a red robe.

Interestingly, the red Dark Magician card can often be more valuable than the purple one and is quite rare.

In June 2021, a 1st Edition 2002 Legend of Blue Eyes Dark Magician card sold for $85,000. Apparently, there are only 40 of these cards in existence, hence the high price tag.
