Aromatherapy Diffusers

Diffuser Aromatherapy Supplies

In recent years, the health benefits of essential oils have been well-documented in clinical studies and the press. Essential oils like lavender oil and jasmine oil offer benefits related to pain, mood and memory function. One of the best ways to receive the benefits of essential oils is through the use of aromatherapy diffusers. These air diffusers work in several different ways and can disperse their contents in a number of different ways. There are many different oils to use for aromatherapy, each with their own separate aroma and health benefits.

What types of aromatherapy diffusers are there?

There are four main types of aromatherapy diffusers and each one have reasons to recommend them. They are:

  • Evaporative
  • Heat
  • Nebulising
  • Ultrasonic

Evaporative aromatherapy diffusers are inexpensive electric devices that are portable and work best in a small space. Heat aromatherapy diffusers are also inexpensive units that use the heat of candles, such as tea candles, to diffuse their contents. Nebuliser aromatherapy diffusers use an atomiser disperse the contents of the diffuser. The concentration is also stronger than with other types of diffusers. Ultrasonic aromatherapy diffusers use water to work, similar to the way humidifiers operate. The oils are mixed with water and then put into the oil diffuser's reservoir.

What are some essential oils to consider?

There are several essential oils that can be used in an aromatherapy scent diffuser, such as:

  • Blue chamomile oil
  • Copaiba oil
  • Eucalyptus oil
  • Frankincense oil
  • Jojoba oil
  • Lavender oil
  • Lemon balm oil
  • Oregano oil
  • Peppermint oil
  • Rose oil
  • Tea tree oil

Certain essential oils, such as eucalyptus oil, help improve respiratory conditions like allergies and bronchitis. Oils like peppermint oil help people dealing with nausea.

Are there any other aromatherapy diffuser supplies that are needed?

In addition to the oils and aromatherapy diffusers, some other necessary supplies include extra tubes, tea lights and storage box. There are kits that come with a diffuser and several small samples of essential oils. A storage box and organiser makes it possible to protect containers of essential oils when not in use and make them available for travel purposes. Frankincense helps build up a person's immunity and helps ease inflammation.
