Why purchase a hair dryer with an added diffuser?

There are three main ways in which you can use a diffuser in addition to your regular hair dryer. They act to dry the hair and tend to add curls or waves without making the hair frizzy as a result. If you have curly or wavy hair, then you already know the negatives to using a hair dryer on your hair. By drying out the hair too quickly and rigorously, it creates frizz, something that we are trying to avoid. The answer could be as simple as using a diffuser with your hair dryer. But how can you do so? There are two main ways in which you can use a diffuser with your hair dryer, in order to avoid the frizz.

To dry your hair

To use the diffuser to dry your hair, you first begin by washing your hair if necessary. Having clean hair will give you the best results. If your hair has become wet in the shower but is still clean, then washing is not a necessity. All natural products can also help to reduce the frizz. Patting your hair dry with a towel will minimise the frizz as well before you blow dry. Here you can apply any products you wish to use, such as leave in conditioner. Fit the diffuser to the end of your hair dryer and use it to dry your hair. Medium or low heat is best. Tilt your head to one side and then the other as you move around your head. Circular motions near the scalp will yield the best results.

To style your hair

To style you will most likely use products in your hair. Here you can start diffusing upside down, moving the diffuser again in circular motions. Focus on the roots and work outwards. To add body to your hair, diffuse from the back toward the front. Flip your hair over and apply product as necessary, such as a curl or wave preserving mousse or serum. Voila!
