Whether you’re heading out to a nightclub or going to a formal event, a sequined dress is always an excellent option. A little bit flash or a heap of sparkle, depending on your mood.

Full sequined splendour

When you really want to shine, put on a dress that’s sequined all over. It adds instant glitz and a touch of glamour to any occasion. Team with plain heels and clutch in the dress’s base colour, and keep jewellery to a minimum, to complete the look.

Dressing for a nightclub

When it comes to clubbing, your outfit should primarily be about fun. Pick something that you’ll be comfortable dancing in, and something that makes you happy. An ideal choice is a flowing or full-skirted all-over sequined mini-dress that shimmers with every movement you make. Add some low black heels and a black clutch, and maybe some large feather earrings, to finish off your look.

Sequined cocktail dresses

If the dress code says ‘cocktail’, you can’t go past an three-quarterlength or full length sequined dress. Bring back the Prohibition era in a 20s-style flapper dress, with a sequined headband and t-strap shoes to keep the outfit true to the era. Or pick up a timeless classic with a clinging, form-fitting ankle-length formal dress in any colour your heart desires. Accentuate with black or silver evening shoes and a matching clutch purse to really make your outfit pop. If your dress is fully-sequined, keep makeup and jewellery simple to avoid having them compete with the dress.
