Parfums Christian Dior, the perfumery and cosmetics section of Christian Dior, first saw light of day in 1947, with the introduction of the Miss Dior perfume. Since its inception, this perfume has been subjected to several reformulations and flankers, and while some found immense popularity, others did little to further the brand. Miss Dior Cherie fragrances for women hit the shelves in 2005.
The Change in NameOriginally released as Miss Dior Cherie to break into the young market, this fragrance went through a brief exercise in rebranding. In 2011, the company rechristened the original Miss Dior to Miss Dior Originale, and Miss Dior Cherie became Miss Dior. A simple way to distinguish between the two fragrances is to look at their colour. Miss Dior Originale comes in a hue of yellow. Miss Dior Cherie, in the form of Miss Dior, comes in shades of pink and orange. As was the case with Miss Dior Cherie fragrances, the newer avatar also sells in different forms.
Miss Dior Extrait de ParfumIt is said that François Demachy reinterpreted the line’s traditional signature to come up with this sophisticated and intense chypre fragrance that offers a heady mix of orange blossom absolute, Egyptian jasmine absolute, grasse rose absolute and Indonesian patchouli essence. Miss Dior Eau de ParfumBold, elegant, and filled with passion, the top note of this perfume brings with it the essence of Blood Orange and Sicilian Mandarin.
