Kenzo, a Japanese design house with a long history of mixing Japanese and western influences, has been creating designer clothing and perfumes since the 1970s. Flower by Kenzo, created by Alberto Morillas, is probably its most popular fragrance ever. It was inspired by the poppy; one of the most ephemeral and difficult-to-capture scents. And while the resulting award-winning scent has elements of a traditional floral women's perfume with its rose, vanilla and musk notes, it also contains unusual notes like cassis (blackcurrant blossom), wild hawthorne, and woody touches.

The Flower by Kenzo perfume range

Flower by Kenzo is available in four different types, subtly modified to suit the type of perfume. While they all have the basic notes of the award-winning perfume, each contains additional highlights, making each unique. The eau de toilette is a dilute scent that lasts about 2-3 hours on the skin. It has hints of mandarin and violets. The eau de vie, essentially an eau de parfum, is more concentrated and tends to last around 4-5 hours. It contains ginger, orange blossom, and tonka notes. The eau de lumière contains elements of pear, bergamot, and jasmine. And the l'elixir adds raspberry and praline notes for a full-bodied scent for early evening as well as night-time use.

Bottle sizes

The perfumes are typically available in 30ml, 50ml, and 100ml sizes. You might also find samples in various sizes, often 1-5ml. Some people prefer to buy perfume in smaller sizes if they won't be wearing the perfume every day; this can limit the oxidisation which can spoil the scent in a perfume.
