Artists' Paint

Paint a masterpiece with a range of Artist's paint

Painting is a creative and relaxing pastime for both children and adults alike, and there are so many types of artist's paints to choose from. Whether you're an art student or an avid painter there are numerous types of paints to add to your art set.

Acrylic paint

Acrylic paint is one of the least toxic of all the paints out there, and it is hugely popular and versatile. Acrylic is water-soluble and can be as thick or thin as you want. However, because it is a plastic polymer, it is flexible, waterproof and long-lasting once dry. You can also add further layers to it later, without disturbing the ones underneath.

Acrylic paints come in a wide range of colours, practically any colour you can imagine is available or can be created by mixing.

Watercolour paint

This type of paint is a fully water-soluble and translucent medium suitable for all sorts of things from young children's paintings to stunning landscapes. Ideal for blending colours together in a painting, or mixing to make your own colours, watercolour paint is made from a colour pigment dispersed in a binding agent.

Oil paint

Produced in sets and sold in aluminium tubes, oil paint is made from refined vegetable oil and each colour is mixed into a fine paste. Thick and high quality, oil paint is very rich and durable and ideal for portrait painting.

Spray paint

Not just the preserve of teenagers and graffiti, spray paint is actually a great way to achieve all sorts of effects on a variety of different surfaces. Go for a dramatic effect by holding the can nearer your canvas or further away to achieve a sea spray feel to your work.

Paint sets

A mixed medium paint set is a great place to start. Complete with oil paints, watercolour paints, pastels, markers, pencils, brushes and much more, these professional-looking, stylish sets come housed in an attractive wooden case to keep everything together.
