Honda Blackbird Road Bikes
Honda motorcycles are well-respected and popular vehicles, and a Honda Blackbird road bike is no exception. The Honda CBR was sold from 1997 to 2003, and it quickly became a roadworthy favourite amongst sportbike enthusiasts. Although it has the look and feel of a sportbike, the CBR1100XX rides like a tourer. It has plenty of power and rides smoothly on short trips or longer excursions on the highway or in the city. At 223 kilogrammes, it's not the lightest bike out there, but it rides as light and as quick as many other lighter sport bikes do.
What features does the Honda CBR1100XX have?
If you're considering a Honda motorcycle, the XX has plenty features to catch your attention. Honda's CBR1100XX Super Blackbird is a DOHC, dual-balancer shaft, 1137 cc sport-touring motorcycle. Its unassuming appearance hides its aerodynamic design that helps it to hurtle down the road. The XX has a 6-speed gearbox, a straight-four engine and a dual-CBS braking system that links the front and rear brake discs for clean stopping power whether you use the hand or foot brake. The Super Blackbird can fly at speeds near 290 kilometres per hour at full throttle. At one point, it was touted as the fastest motorcycle in production.
What is a Super Blackbird?
The Honda CBR1100XX has earned itself the nickname of Super Blackbird because it is smooth, refined and powerful and considered to be amongst the best to ever grace the road for many Honda motorcycle enthusiasts. It was named after the high-speed American spy plane, and depending on the year, it has either a 5.8-gallon fuel tank or a 6.3-gallon fuel tank. Even with a stiffer sport-tuned suspension, the Super Blackbird offers riders a light ride with stellar steering.
Which parts are available?
Every vehicle needs routine maintenance, and sometimes they require more serious repairs. When necessary, consider a complete engine replacement or other Honda engine parts to keep your Blackbird soaring. There are also aftermarket parts that allow you and your XX to achieve a more customised ride and look. When choosing aftermarket pieces and parts, be sure to check the dimensions and specifications to ensure that you are getting compatibility and a precise fit.
