KTM 450 EXC Motorcycles
Whether you are new to off road biking or an experienced enduro racing champion, the KTM 450 EXC is a motorbike you can rely on to withstand tough conditions. With a four-stroke engine, the KTM 450 EXC can be registered as a legal road bike, but can handle the mud and the potholes of backcountry riding.
Going Off Road with KTM
When it comes to enduro off-road dirt bike riding, KTM motorcycles are hard to beat, with the Austrian company remaining amongst the top off road manufacturers in the world. In addition to making some of the most popular enduro bikes, KTM also compete regularly in motocross racing championships.
Earliest Model KTM 450 EXC
The 2003 KTM 450 EXC motorcycle was the first 450 model released by KTM, and it was designed to be an improvement on the original 400 model which had taken out first prize at the 1999 Enduro World Championships. Noticeably, the 2003 model 450 EXC had a longer stroke to increase displacement when compared to its popular predecessor.
Built for Enduros
The KTM 450 EXC range of motorbikes are built for enduros - cross country time trial events that cover an off road course with multiple challenges. This kind of course requires a bike that is specially equipped with deep suspension to cope with jumps and dips, but that can also be registered to legally ride on roads, since events will often include a portion of roadway. Enduro bikes are also typically fitted with a larger than average petrol tank so that they can last long distance racing.
