Kenko Teleconverter Camera Lens for Canon
Kenko teleconverter camera lenses for Canon cameras increase the effective focal length of the lens to which they are attached for versatile long-range image capture. The company makes telephoto lenses for both full-frame and crop Canon cameras.Teleconverters and Telephotography
A teleconverter allows photographers to extend the range of a camera. It sits between the body of the camera and the lens in order to magnify images before they reach the sensor. While you could also switch to a longer lens to achieve the same long-distance photography, teleconverters are typically both smaller and cheaper than a dedicated telephoto lens. Teleconverters are also often used with lenses that are already in the telephoto range. Unlike a longer lens, a teleconverter will not affect your minimum focusing distance. In other words, you are able to take pictures of things from further away after installing a teleconverter, but you can also get as close up as you could previously. First, using an extender will reduce your maximum aperture. Second, adding extra glass elements in front of the sensor will inevitably reduce image quality. The Kenko Teleconverters
Japanese photography company Kenko makes a range of teleconverter lenses for SLR cameras, including those manufactured by Canon. Their Teleplus range of teleconverters includes 1.4x and 2.0x models that are compatible with Canon EF and EF-S mounts, so they can be attached to both full-frame and crop DSLR cameras. As an added advantage, these teleconverters are compatible with both EF and EF-S lenses, so you can use it to install an EF-S lens on a full-frame DSLR.Specialised Teleconverters
As well as the basic model, Kenko also makes some more advanced teleconverter styles. The Teleplus Pro 300 comes in both 1.4x and 2.0x magnifications and features higher-grade optics, although it is only compatible with EF lenses and not the EF-S format used on crop cameras. The MC4 and MC7 1.4x and 1.7x teleconverters are also only compatible with EF lenses, but they feature electrical connections that allow the camera and lens to communicate, preserving autofocus functionality. Archival Kenko teleconverter designs are also available, including teleconverters for medium format cameras.Kenko Lenses
It is also possible to capture long-range images with your smartphone using Kenko camera lenses. Kenko makes telephoto lenses that attach to your phone with a clip, placing the optic over the lens of your smartphone’s camera. Among their clip lens offerings is a clip-mounted 7x telephoto lens that can be attached to a phone or tablet or used as a monocular. Kenko also makes macro, wide-angle and fisheye lenses for phones and tablets.
