The undisputable Nike Air Max range
The Nike Air Max was created 30 years ago by Tinker Hatfield, Nike’s renowned sneaker designer. Since then, the Air Max range has evolved to many variations, such as the Nike Air Max 95 and the Air Max 97.
Made for the runner that values comfort, performance, and style, the Nike Air Max has one distinguishable trait – the flexible urethane pouches filled with pressurized gas located in the midsoles of the sneaker.
These mini pressurised gases are called Max Air and are also visible from the exterior of the sneaker. In the Nike Air Max 180, the Max Air bubble occupies a larger part of the outsole - 180 degrees to be exact.
This bubble has since inspired the design of other sneakers such as the Nike Air Force Max.
Since its introduction in 1991, the Nike 180 has been released in several colours and collaborations. Its original colour consists of a rich blue swoosh, white ceramic outer, and solar red pop of colour. This classic colour combination was then reintroduced in 2018.
