Nixon watches have been designed, from the start, to be tough, excellent timekeepers, up for the challenge of a highly active and extreme lifestyle. Originally designed in California for board sports like skateboarding and surfing, these watches are designed to take knocks in their stride and keep functioning anywhere you go, no matter what you do.

Nixon Men's Watches

Nixon offer a range of men’s wrist watches, from dedicated sports models to dress watches. Whether you like big statement pieces or something more minimalistic, you’re bound to find something to suit your tastes while also meeting your needs for a watch that you can take practically anywhere. If you have thinner wrists, you might find that some of the women’s watches fit you better – women tend to have smaller wrists, so watches designed for them often have narrower faces and shorter bands.

Nixon Women's Watches

Nixon doesn’t forget women in its quest to create watches that will suit any lifestyle. Its women’s watches are tough and water resistant, like the men’s range – just designed with women’s physiques and tastes in mind. You’ll find a wide selection of sports and dress watches, all of them excellent timekeepers and ready for anything your day might throw at them.

Nixon Unisex Watches

For those seeking a more middle of the road watch, Nixon produce a range of unisex styles that work well on any wrist. These are a bit smaller than the classic oversize men’s watches and tend toward the minimalist and timeless styles that never go out of fashion.

Nixon Digital Watches

Nixon offer a range of digital watches that are both practical and packed with features. If you’re a surfer, you’re sure to like the Base Tide Pro, with information about sunrise and sunset for each day and – awesomely – high and low tides for around 550 beaches worldwide. The case is extra tough and durable, designed to take whatever the waves have to throw at it. If you’re not such a surf fan, have a look for the Dork Too watch – a unique style that will tell you the time with a push of a button and harks back, in style, to 1960s science fiction books and television.

Nixon 51-30 Watches

Possibly Nixon’s most iconic watch to date, the 51-30 has lasting appeal and has stayed popular ever since it was first release. The name comes from the size of its face – a whopping 51 mm – and its water resistance rating – 30 ATM (300 metres). The oversized face is the most memorable part of this watch, and it sparked a whole wave of outsized fashion watches. While it makes a great statement, this watch is also a high-quality chronograph with impressive water resistance capability.

Nixon Sentry

Nixon’s Sentry models are calm, sophisticated dress watches that are ideal for business and black tie alike. But just because they’re designed for looks doesn’t mean they won’t stand up to a lot of punishment! They’re made with hardened mineral crystal and solid stainless steel, and the metal banded models are waterproof to 100 metres (10 ATM). If you go for a leather wrist band, though, be aware that the standard leather provisos apply – leather doesn’t tend to cope well with getting soaked repeatedly and will degrade. Keep an eye out for the collectors’ Star Wars versions, with subtle designs based on the recent trilogy that only other fans will spot.

Nixon Time Teller

The Time Teller is Nixon’s minimalist dress watch. It comes in a wide range of colours and finishes, including gold, rose gold, silver, and black. But Nixon also has some fun with this style – some of its designs are eye catching and unusual, like its Metallica and Star Wars collaboration. These watches tend to be more for day to day wear – to the office, for example – than more formal events.

Nixon 48-20

The 48-20 is an older Nixon model, using a similar naming convention to the 51-30 – it’s 48 millimetres wide, and is water resistant to 20 atmospheres (200 metres). You’ll find quite a few still available here, both in brand new and used conditions. Keep an eye out for some of the rarer collaboration editions too – again, Star Wars styles tend to be the most popular variants.

Nixon Mission

When other smart watches were counting steps and displaying text messages, Nixon wanted to do something different. It designed the Mission smart watch collection with one simple purpose – to support board enthusiasts in their day’s mission. The watch comes with apps that give you up to date information about nearby surf conditions and snowfall reports, so that you can always find the best ride. Nixon doesn’t make this model anymore – although it still offers support – but because they’ve been hugely popular, you’ll often find Mission smart watches available here.

Nixon Charger

Now largely not available in stores, Nixon’s Charger collection is a selection of hardy dress and sport hybrid watches designed to be worn all day, every day. While these have been discontinued now, with the sole exception of the Charger Star Wars edition, you can still find a great selection of Charger wrist watches, new and vintage, right here.

How to care for your new watch

Most of the care that your watch will need is to keep it clean and avoid getting any dirt ingrained that will irritate your skin. You can achieve a regular gentle clean with a moist cloth for the face, and a soft toothbrush for the more intricate bits like the metal band. Most watches will need a service every couple of years. This might involve a simple battery replacement, or a thorough cleaning of the works to remove dust, oils, and dirt. Because Nixon watches are water resistant, you don’t want to be taking the watch apart yourself to change the battery and the like. Instead, make use of the brand’s Online Repair Centre to book your watch in for a service.
