Kids’ Sand Art Crafts
Sand art is a simple yet fun activity that children will love. Many come in a kit with all the material you will need so it makes setup simple for a party activity. Sand art also is often sold in packs, making them good additions to hand out to your invitees. Sand art for kids requires some fine motor skills, therefore older children will be able to enjoy creating their sand art pieces on their own. Younger children are recommended to do this activity under the supervision of an adult.
Sand Art Design and Kits
Sand art is done on a card with designs carved onto the peel-off layer that reveals an adhesive surface. The designs on the card can vary in theme but they are generally simple with clean and bold lines to give the final result a cleaner finish. Sand art kits come with the card with a design pre drawn and a selection of brightly coloured sand in small packets. Some kits also include a toothpick or a similar tool to help with picking the protective layer off the adhesive surface.
How to Do Sand Art
Before starting any arts and crafts for kids, it is recommended to line the work surface with recycled paper or newspaper to make cleaning up easier. To make the sand art, you simply peel the protective layer off the section you want coloured and pour your selected coloured sand onto the adhesive patch. Then, pour off the excess onto your lined work surface to reveal the now coloured surfaced.
