Any store or retail space needs some way to display the merchandise. Even a real-estate agency will have a slatwall where they mount images of the property for sale. If you own or are in the process of setting up your own retail business, you're going to want to make full use of the space you have, for which you are no doubt shelling out a premium. Slatwalls are walls that can be put over the actual structural wall in a non-permanent way, and which allow you to attach racks, brackets and shelves with ease and without having to make any changes to a space you may just be renting. Besides use for retail space, slatwall panels are also a great method of organising a warehouse for an online retailing business, or even just a large garage or toolshed.
Racks and Shelves
Once you've got your slatwall installed you'll need to put on some combination of shop display racks, shelves, brackets and hangers depending on exactly what sort of merchandise you're selling. When you're planning the layout for your store, pay close attention to what you're doing with the floor space in the middle as well, and how customers move through your store. Big-ticket items are large enough that they don't need to be displayed as prominently, but you want to make sure that people walking past your front door can immediately tell what you're selling.
So you're making full use of the space the walls offer you, but you still have a ton of unused space in the middle. To really get the most out of your retail space you'll also want shop display stands to put on tables or to stand on their own. These are especially great because you can put them by the entrance or register, making sure your customers pass by the products on display there. Display stands are also great if your business ever tables at a convention. In those situations, customers are constantly passing you by, bombarded with advertising and other displays, so you want to make sure you stand out.
