Specialized Mountain Bikes

Specialized Mountain Bikes

Pedal madly to the top with a Specialized mountain bike that can put up with the abuse from both you and the environment without falling apart. Founded in 1974 in Morgan Hill, California, by Mike Sinyard, Specialized Bicycle Components Incorporated designs and manufactures both high-performance and standard bicycles, such as the Specialized road racing bicycles, and the Specialized downhill bicycles as well as related components. With 1981s Stumpjumper blazing the trail for mountain bikes the world over, Specialized continues to innovate and define the future of biking.

Frame Material

If you fancy a Specialized frame that responds like a dream, dampening vibrations when youre turning sharply, then the strong and extremely lightweight carbon fibre frame is your answer. Unfortunately, if you over-tighten bolts or subject it to excessive stress, a carbon fibre frame may crack. For performance on a budget, consider a lightweight and corrosion-resistant aluminium frame that responds quite well too, but does not last as long over time. As both the carbon fibre and aluminium frames offer a high resistance to corrosion, theyre perfect for all weather conditions.

Mountain Bike Wheels

The wheels on Specialized mountain bikes generally have wider rims than those on standard bikes to offer better traction, control, as well as provide greater comfort to you. They also have excellent resistance to punctures in the rough terrain, and the wheels increased air volume also provides a smoother ride.

Brake Type

Slow down or stop moving altogether with good-quality bicycle brakes. The low-maintenance direct/linear pull, or V-brakes, on your Specialized mountain bike stop reliably in dry conditions, but require frequent replacing because of their position on the rims. The longer-lasting hydraulic, or disc, brakes offer excellent stopping power in all weather conditions and are also easy to maintain.

Race cross-country on smooth trails with a hardtail Specialized bike that has suspension on the front. This low-maintenance bike is lighter and more efficient than one with dual suspension. Full or dual suspension features suspension in both the front and rear parts of the bike, so test yours on the roughest of trails as it absorbs all the impact from the ground while providing traction and comfort.
