Uniden Headsets for Home Telephones

Uniden is a Japanese company that operates globally and specialises in wireless communication devices. The company made its name with CB radios in the 1970s, but also makes other devices, including cordless phones and landline telephones as well. Uniden also offers headsets for its home telephones to enhance their functionality.

Home phone headsets allow users to keep their hands free while conversing on the telephone. With a wired telephone, users are limited to the range allowed by the length of the headset's cable. However, with a cordless home telephone, users can pocket the phone and be completely mobile within the home or office. In addition, since the position of the mic relative to the user is constant, even if the user is moving around to take notes, the user's voice is always at a constant volume. Lastly, headsets offer better ergonomics as compared to a phone handset and can promote better posture and reduce neck and back pain.

Uniden HS-910

The Uniden HS-910 is a wired headset suitable for all Uniden home telephones featuring a sub-mini 2.5 mm jack. This model fits over the user's head and has a single mono earpiece on the right side. The benefit of this design is that users can still listen to what is going on in their immediate surroundings while on the phone. The HS-910 is black in colour and features a plastic and metal body.

Uniden HS-915

The Uniden HS-915 is a wired headset that features a behind-the-neck design. This model has a sub-mini 2.5 mm jack and an included boom microphone. In addition, it includes a clip to aid with cable management.

Compatibility with Other Home Telephones

Since current Uniden home phone headsets use the sub-mini 2.5 mm standard jack, they are compatible with other home telephones that use the same terminal. Similarly, it is possible to use generic home telephone headsets with Uniden phones as long as the jack matches the terminal on the phone.
