Voltron

The fame of “Voltron” is a product of syndicated broadcasting in American television during the mid-1980’s and was a joint venture between World Events Productions and Japanese animation studio Toei Animation Co., Ltd. The title gained worldwide attention when “Voltron: Defender of the Universe” first aired in September of 1984 and today remains one of the most famous mecha series, commanding a product lineup consisting of toys, figures and physical media like DVDs and Blu-ray titles.

The 2016 production of “Voltron: Legendary Defender” gave new life to the classic franchise. Produced by DreamWorks Animation and World Events Productions, the series uses new animation technology to enhance the entertainment factor of the title. The story tells about the adventures of the Paladins of Voltron and their battle against the evil Galra Empire, challenging them to learn to work together to form the legendary giant robot Voltron.

Several classic action figures were made during the golden days of Voltron and  continue to make new ones today. Notable figures are made by Funko, Toynami and others.
