Welding Equipment & Accessories

Welding Equipment

People across Australia own welding and soldering equipment. Many people regularly use a welder to fix things that break around their property. People like farmers and tradesmen use welders and welding equipment to build custom pieces of machinery and to fix broken tools of structures. It is very important to make sure that you have high quality welding equipment, because you could run into all sorts of problems if you don’t. Avoid cheap welding rods and soldering equipment, because these simply won’t be able to make a good, strong weld.

Types Of Welders

There are three main types of home welders on the market. When it comes to choosing welding and soldering equipment it is important to get the right type. The three main types are MIG welders, TIG welders and stick welders. Unfortunately, welding equipment is generally not interchangeable between the three types of welders, because they work in very different ways.

Welder Cutters

Although most people think of welding as the process of joining two or more pieces of metal together, some welders can also cut metal. Welding cutters simply use the heat it generates during the welding process to break a piece of metal apart - make sure that you are careful when doing this as it can be quite dangerous.

Protective Gear

If you are buying welding or soldering equipment, you need to make sure that you have the appropriate welding protective gear. A mask or face shield is absolutely essential, as looking at a welder without one can cause temporary or even permanent blindness. Heavy gloves are important to protect from the heat, and you should wear boots and jeans to prevent burns to the lower body. Remember, welding is dangerous, and wearing protective gear never hurt anyone!
