White Armoires and Wardrobes

Sometimes a closet is just not big enough to hold all your clothing. When you run out of space, it's time to add extra storage. What's more, homeowners can add a little vintage touch with antique-style armoires and wardrobes or an updated look with modern-style armoires and wardrobes.

Is There a Difference

For the most part, there is not a difference between an armoire and a wardrobe. One difference, however, is that armoires tend to be a bit bigger and more ornate than wardrobes and often include drawers along with hanging racks. Clothing is typically the intended purpose, but often owners choose to use armoires to store other items, such as TVs and electronic equipment. Open the doors when in use and close the doors when you want to give the room a more formal feel.

Add Extra Storage to a Room

Often older homes did not come with any closets or only have small storage options in the bedrooms. In these cases, a wardrobe was ideal. The product takes up no more space than the average dresser, but it gives you the ability to hang up your clothes instead of having to fold them.

Not Just for Hanging

When most people think of an armoire, a closet-style product comes to mind, but that doesn't have to be the case. Many designs feature one, two, or more drawers at the bottom. Another option is to have shelves on the inside along with the hanging bars.

Size Does Matter

The size of your space determines the size of the armoire you can purchase. Smaller rooms allow for an equally smaller wardrobe while a large room lets you add one that will hold more clothing and possibly have a mirror or an additional third door. Never run out of room again.
