Why the Samba?
The Samba was first released in 1950 – just in time for the World Cup, and it was named after the indigenous Brazilian dance because the World Cup at the time was being played in Brazil. In the 1990s, skateboarders took this shoe on board, keeping their feet firmly planted on the board; and of course, from there it took a more casual turn.
