Notifications

Setting up notifications lets you keep track of your eBay activity without having to be on the eBay site.

Whether you're buying or selling, you can stay on top of what's happening on eBay by receiving notifications. You can receive notifications about:

  • Member communications: Messages received from other members
  • Selling: Notifications about items you're selling, seller tools, seller performance updates, and Best Offers
  • Buying: Notifications about items you're watching, bidding on, or bought; saved searches and sellers; and Best Offers
  • Account and other eBay activities: Notifications about changes to your account, feedback, and Resolution Center
  • Promotions and surveys

You can choose how to receive notifications – either via email or through browser notifications. Emails will be sent to your registered email address. Browser notifications are available through Google Chrome and Firefox on desktop computers.

Email notifications

By default, you'll automatically receive email notifications at your registered email address updating you about your eBay activity. You can change the following settings at any time:

Here's how to change your settings:

  1. Go to Account in My eBay, and select Communication preferences - opens in new window or tab.
  2. Select Show All at the top of the page to see your current settings.

You can also set alerts on your mobile device by downloading the eBay app.

eBay will send notifications for the purposes identified in our Privacy Policy. The number of messages we send varies based on your activity.
